ABSTRACT
The research focuses on a security application for smartphones, Last Call. The research
was conducted to gain more information on whether or not users believe a security application is
needed for today’s society. The application has four features which include calling a designated
driver, calling a tow truck, lifesaver alert function, and emergency situations lifesaver. The
analysis was based on a survey of random individuals with smartphones from young adults to
older adults, both students and nonstudents, parents and individuals with businesses. The interest
was in determining if age, and children in the household were related to the perceived usefulness
of the application. Results showed that age was significantly related to the perceived usefulness of
the application while the number of children had no relationship to the likelihood of downloading
the application.
