ABSTRACT
Critical success factors for successful implementation outcomes of lean manufacturing remain an important area of research. In the past thirty years, service and manufacturing companies have tried to implement lean principles to improve their performance. Yet, the majority of these companies fail to tap the full potential of going lean. This study presents an extensive research review and derives a general model for empirical research on organizational factors and the implementation outcomes of lean manufacturing. This study also provides an extensive survey of published research
on the relationship and effect of organizational factors on the implementation outcomes of lean manufacturing along a landscape delineated by three dimensions of organizational climate, organizational structure, and job design.
