WELCOME TO THE MILLENNIAL GENERATION: SHOULD THIS GENERATION BE ATTRACTED, MANAGED AND RETAINED BY CORPORATIONS DIFFERENTLY?

ABSTRACT

The Millennials are different from any other generation thus far, and companies are going to have to make significant changes to attract, manage and retain these employees. The Millennial generation has to be attracted to certain companies in order to apply for positions in the companies if it is easy to apply.
This generation has to be managed by great leaders and great managers. To retain the Millennial generation, should provide growth opportunities, meet their needs (e. g., salary and benefits), and search for ways to reward and recognize them.. Finally, the generation has to like the jobs doing presently in order not to leave the companies.
This study investigates the expectations of the millennial generation. Utilizing a convenient sample of professionals, the results revealed that the expectations of the Millennia generation are met; otherwise the generation would not be attracted to the current companies and apply for certain jobs in the selected companies.
